Course Information

This course is a MUST for all in the food industry as it provides an overview of what GMP entails as well as practical know-how on how to get started. The MS 1514 standard specifies requirements for prerequisite programmes covering the primary production to the final consumer, setting out the necessary hygienic and manufacturing conditions for producing food which is safe and suitable for consumption. It lists down a series of requirements to be adhered to by food-related industries that conform to the most basic practices to ensure food safety.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the MS 1514:2022 GMP latest requirements
  • Understand the Importance of personnel hygiene/cleanliness and sanitisation
  • Understand the risks and hazards in the manufacture/handling of food products
  • Prepare prerequisite programmes and practices for GMP

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for personnel who are involved in the management of food hygiene and safety. HACCP Committee/ Team members, Team Leaders, Food Inspectors, Food Safety Practitioners and other personnel involved in the development of GMP and HACCP.

Trainer: Mr Ramalu Appalsamy

Mr Ramalu is currently advising and training organisations across various industries in implementing ISO Management Systems, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000 FSMS, including Integrated Management Systems, Total Quality Management Systems, Strategic Management, and Business Excellence Programs. In addition to being a consultant and trainer, Ramalu is a certified auditor in ISO 9001 QMS, ISO 14001 EMS, OHSAS 18001 (by IRCA), as well as ISO 22000 FSMS.

He possesses the following qualifications and relevant working experience:

  • Bachelor in Business Administration (UK) - Management
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
  • Diploma in Outstanding Business Leadership (MI)
  • Manufacturing Management Co-Coordinator/Specialist (SIBA)
  • IRCA Certified Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2008
  • IRCA Certified Lead Auditor ISO/TS 16949:2002
  • IRCA Certified Lead Auditor ISO 14001:2004
  • IRCA Certified Lead Auditor OHSAS 18001:2007
  • Certified Consultant in Quality, Environment, Safety & Health.
  • Certified Consultant in Laboratory and other Management systems
  • Train the Trainer (Exempted by PSMB-18 Mar 2008)
  • 20 years in the Manufacturing Industry as a Senior Manager
  • 8 years in the Consultation & Implementation of ISO Systems
  • 10 years of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 Auditing experience

Mr Ramalu has provided consultancy, training, and auditing services to more than 60 companies and organisations in various sectors.
